The Cristo Rey Network announced Network school recipients for the organization’s Student Retention Fund, a $1.25 million investment by The Howley Foundation to equip schools with the financial resources to develop and implement a data-driven, strategic, and intentional approach to the challenge of attrition.

Eight Cristo Rey schools will benefit from this grant for a two-year period beginning July 1, 2019, including:

Cristo Rey Baton Rouge Franciscan High School
Cristo Rey Boston High School
Cristo Rey Brooklyn High School
Christ the King Jesuit College Preparatory School (Chicago)
Verbum Dei High School (Los Angeles)
Cristo Rey Philadelphia High School
ICA Cristo Rey Academy (San Francisco)
Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit High School

This opportunity is an extension of the Foundation’s fall 2016 investment, which launched a retention project designed to match strong academic emphasis and support from the National Office staff with grants to schools to empower each to tackle attrition and build retention through strategic interventions. The Fund will support up to 20 Cristo Rey schools over three years.
